The Pioneers finished the 2018 season 33-3 ending at the semi-state finals to Avon and graduating five seniors, including Lilly Bivens ’19, who is playing at Nichols State. The 2019 Lady Pioneers are led by key returning starters juniors Ali Hornung (outside hitter and Purdue commit), and seniors Courtney Glotzbach (outside hitter and Jacksonville State commit), Ceci Rush (libero and Louisville commit), and Maggie Purichia (middle hitter). Juniors Anna Purichia (outside hitter) and Emma Kaelin (setter) are also returning starters who will make an impact. Newcomers who will be quick to contribute include juniors Lydia Rush (outside hitter) and Miranda Harley (defensive specialist), senior Brynna Walthers (defensive specialist), and freshman Grace Purichia (setter).

The Pioneers start the season ranked Class 4A No. 2.  With high expectations after returning a good portion of the lineup, the Pioneers have worked hard in the off season to fill the voids left by our talented graduating seniors.  The realignment in Class 4A left the postseason road filled with top 10 teams at every point, so the Pioneers are working to improve everyday to be playing our best volleyball in October.
