2019-2020 Swim & Dive

The 2019-2020 Swim & Dive team was a rebuilding year of sorts, having graduated a large group of seniors in 2019, especially on the boys’ team. The new swimmers supported the returning team members and improved over the season to earn personal bests, win several meets, advance several swimmers to the sectional finals. For the girls, senior Lauren Stapp placed 13th in the 50 yard freestyle, and sophomore Julia Thomas was 11th in the 100 breaststroke in the finals. The relay team of sophomores Sydney LaMaster, Audrey Howell, and Sarah Boehm and junior Beth Wimsatt placed 10th in the 200 yard freestyle relay and 11th in the 400-yard freestyle relay.

For the boys, the 200 medley relay team of freshman Ben Tackett, sophomore Zach Applewhite, junior Kieran Kelly, and senior Logan Applewhite placed seventh in sectional
finals in the A round. In the sectional consolation bracket finals, Zach placed 10th in the 200 individual medley; Logan placed 14th in the 100 butterfly and 15th in the 100 freestyle; Ben placed 13th in the 500 yard freestyle; and Kieran placed 12th in the 100 breaststroke. The 200 freestyle relay team of sophomore Jake Miller and juniors Zach Aurilio, Alex Rousselle, and Marcus Fuson placed ninth; and the 400 freestyle relay team of Zach, Logan, Kieran, and sophomore Ethan Kerr placed 10th.
