2019-2020 Swim & Dive

The 2019-2020 Swim & Dive team was a rebuilding year of sorts, having graduated a large group of seniors in 2019, especially on the boys’ team. The new swimmers supported the returning team members and improved over the season to earn personal bests, win several meets, advance several swimmers to the sectional finals. For the girls, senior Lauren Stapp placed 13th in the 50 yard freestyle, and sophomore Julia Thomas was 11th in the 100 breaststroke in the finals. The relay team of sophomores Sydney LaMaster, Audrey Howell, and Sarah Boehm and junior Beth Wimsatt placed 10th in the 200 yard freestyle relay and 11th in the 400-yard freestyle relay.

For the boys, the 200 Medley Relay team of senior Logan Applewhite,  sophomore Zach Applewhite, and juniors Kieran Kelly and Alex Rousselle placed eighth at sectional prelims to advance to the A finals.  Several swimmers advanced to the B finals, including Zach in the 200 individual and 100 free; Logan in the 100 butterfly; Kieran in the 100 breaststroke,  freshman Ben Tackett in the 500 free; the 200 free relay team of Alex, sophomore Jake Miller, and juniors Zach Aurillo and Marcus Fuson; and the 400 free relay team of the Applewhite brothers, Kieran, and sophomore Ethan Kerr.
