How It Works
All Providence High School students, faculty and staff are divided into 8 houses with equal numbers from each class in each house. Selection is by random draw unless another family member is or was in a house. Students remains in their house throughout their time at Providence, and will continue even as alumni.
Ten elected representatives serve in each of the eight houses – 3 seniors, 3 juniors, 2 sophomores, and 2 freshmen. One senior and one junior from each house meets in a school-wide House Council.
Each house has approximately five faculty and staff members, one acting as House Director. They assist students in planning a minimum of four activities annually, one each in the following categories: Service, Social, Spirit/Pride, and Spiritual.
Each house meets monthly for about 45 minutes during the school day with the exception of December and May. Subcommittees and houses may choose to meet on their own as needed.
*The House of Honesty existed from 2009, the year the House System began, until May 2018, when the junior high closed.
