OPEN HOUSE

During the fall semester, Providence stages a grand OPEN HOUSE. Prospective students and parents are treated to a guided tour of Providence as well an opportunity to meet faculty and staff. Each Department will have a representative available to discuss their activities and specialties. Also each sport and extra-curricular group will have a representative present to discuss opportunities. You will quickly see that Providence offers a wide range of studies nd activities. You will never be bored at Providence.

We know that the best way to tell our story is to have you come here for a visit. OPEN HOUSE is a great time to get all your questions answered. It is also a wonderful opportunity to meet many of our Student Ambassadors (tour guides) and teachers.  If you would like more information about OPEN HOUSE, please contact Admissions.

SHADOWING

Students in our Deanery schools participate in a Shadowing Day for all schools.  If your child is not a member of a New Albany Deanery junior high, you will want to consider arranging a visit to the school and “shadow” a Providence student for a portion of the school day. Your child will visit several classes with a student-guide. Teachers and other students will greet your child and he/she will discover the friendly atmosphere at Providence.

To arrange such a visit to Providence, contact Admissions to learn more about this opportunity.

PLACEMENT EXAM

An entrance exam/placement test is required for acceptance to Providence Junior/Senior High School. Testing will be offered on the first Saturday of December for all eighth graders who may decide to register in February for next school year. You will be pretty busy all morning - but then, you have the rest of the weekend to recover and celebrate.

For information about the Entrance Exam/Placement Test, contact Admissions.

REGISTRATION

On two evenings in February, all incoming freshmen will register for the next school year.

You and your child will sit down with a member of our faculty or staff for this event. Your test scores will be discussed and your course of studies will be outlined.
